Meet your favorite new annual Phlox! Pomegranate introduces a whole new color to the family -- a happy blend of rose, salmon, and coral shades of red. Sweetly fragrant and prepared to bloom for months where it is happy, this Drummond's Phlox is destined to be a star in your cutting garden, annual bed, and best containers.
The flowers begin in early summer in most climates, each 1½ inches wide and bearing a fabulous sweet fragrance. Where they are untroubled by drought, extreme heat, and wind, they continue right through fall, ceasing only when frost sets in. This is a selection of our native American species (originally found in Texas), and when given adequate water in rich, well-drained soil, there's simply no stopping it!
Pomegranate reaches about 14 to 20 inches high and a foot wide, with lush foliage below the bright, fragrant blooms. It's terrific as a cut-flower, and catches the eye from way across the garden. Use it in containers, too -- this unusual shade of red is just too rare to pass by! Pkt is 30 seeds.
