At last, you can grow this hard-to-find Stonecrop from seed! Surrenderâ„?Red is the first variety that blooms in its very first year from seed, offers brilliant rosy-red flowers held in big clusters, and reaches less than a foot high and wide. Your containers, perennial border, and edging plantings never had it so good!

Surrenderâ„?Red has already won the Fleuroselect Novelty Award in Europe, and we have the feeling it's just getting started. This hardy perennial reaches just 6 to 10 inches high and no wider than 8 inches, yet it sports tiers of gray-green succulent leaves held below masses of dark red blooms. Well-branched and vigorous, it's a eye-catching presence in containers and the sunny garden alike.

Surrenderâ„?Red flowers in autumn, extending the season of beauty in your garden. Very long-lasting, the flowers are attractive to pollinators and add a pop of dark color that is perfectly in line with the fall palette. And Surrenderâ„?Red is open-pollinated, so it will come true from seed. Save the seeds or let it colonize an area of the garden! The foliage looks great from spring through fall, and the blooms last for many weeks.

Start seeds indoors in your Bio Dome, placing them on top of the Bio Sponge (they need light to germinate). Make sure the Bio Sponge stays moist. They germinate in 2 to 3 weeks, and are ready to transplant into pots after 6 to 8 weeks of growth. Do not transplant them outdoors until all danger of frost has passed.

Note: Sedum telephium recently changed its nomenclature to Hylotelephium telephium. Same species, new name!
