Known for being the last to ripen, thus extending the season all the way into September. Begins setting fruit early, in 2nd or 3rd year. Also known for its tart/sweet flavor which some people love, and others "turn their nose up at"! It is widely grown, so it must not be too bad! Firm berries are excellent for freezing. 4-6 feet tall. Yellow/orange to red and purple fall color. Recommended for zones 5-7. Harvest in late season (In Southwestern Michigan beginning approximately August 25th, earlier in warmer zones)
