78 days from direct sowing.
Ready several days before all others, Triple Gold Hybrid is a new triploid (seedless) variety with great get-up-and-grow and even better flavor. This bright yellow melon will surprise you with its vigor, ease of care, and fabulous juicy-sweet bite!
These melons are oblong and merrily striped, maturing quickly with good foliage cover from the vigorous plant. They reach about 8 to 10 pounds -- plenty for the whole family to enjoy! And there's nothing like that seedess convenience!
If you've never grown seedless watermelon before, please know that in addition to your seedless melons, you'll get a few with seeds, though they will mostly be soft white seeds called pips. (That's the answer to the question everyone asks: "How do you get seeds from a seedless watermelon?" There are always a few!)
Sow the seeds direct when the soil is warm and all danger of frost is past. This may be a week or two later than you sow your seeded watermelon varieties -- Triple Gold needs thoroughly warmed soil to sprout and grow its best! Plant the whole packet of seeds, scattering the plants among other seeded and seedless varieties if you like. Sow the seeds in raised hills or rows 3 inches high. Thin to 3 plants per hill 3 feet apart, or 1 plant per foot in rows. Pkt is 10 seeds.
