85 days from direct-sowing.
We would like you to meet your new favorite watermelon! Triple Treat is (as its name hints) a triploid, or seedless, variety. Weighing just 8 to 10 pounds, it's perfect for chopping into 4 huge wedges and serving to the family for a healthy and sweet dessert. The flesh is indescribably delicious, both in terms of flavor and texture. It's like that perfect bite in the very center of most watemelons: crisp yet succulent, sugary and light -- just right!
Triple Treat is round, with merry tiger stripes (green on green) on the rind and very firm, never mushy flesh. Arising on vigorous vines, it is simply delectable.
Since this is a seedless variety, we've included pollinator seed in every packet. If you've never grown seedless watermelon before, know that in addition to your seedless melons, you'll get a few with seeds, though they will mostly be soft white seeds called pips. (That's the answer to the question everyone asks: "How do you get seeds from a seedless watermelon?" There are always a few!)
Sow direct when the soil is warm and all danger of frost is past. Sow the seeds in raised hills or rows 3 inches high. Thin to 3 plants per hill 3 feet apart, or 1 plant per foot in rows. For earlier fruit, seeds may be started indoors. Pkt is 10 seeds.
