Days to Maturity: 90 to 110
Sea Shells mix offers shell-shaped, tubular, and fluted petals in blossoms of white, pink, and deep rose. The colorful blooms are simply irresistible to butterflies and attract them, along with bees, birds, and other beneficial insects, all season long. The delicate blooms make gorgeous cut flowers. And the more you cut, the more blooms the plant produces.
A typical cosmos, this tough annual is easy to sow and floriferous, producing scores of blooms with minimal work. In spring, after the last threat of frost has passed, just plant in full sun, keep the soil moist, and remove wilted blooms to encourage and prolong rebloom. That's it. The plants will easily bloom well into fall.
With a 36- to 48-inch height and a 18- to 24-inch spread, the plants fit perfectly in a container but are equally happy tucked into an herb or vegetable garden. And cosmos are safe for pets. So, fill your containers or garden with Sea Shells, sit back, and enjoy the pollinators flocking to your flowers.
Plants can also be started indoors and planted outdoors after the risk of frost has passed. If you plan to start your seeds indoors, be sure to check out our Bio Dome Seed Starter Kit. With the Bio Dome, you can control the temperature, light, and soil mix to ensure your seeds become strong for transplant.
Germination time: 8-14 days.
