Plant Patent Applied For. Cultivar Name: 'Armtipp01'.

'Big Time Blue' puts other English Lavenders to shame: not only does it bloom much earlier than all of its relatives, but these blooms are also some of the largest, growing up to 4 inches long on compact foliage!

Only truly revolutionary cultivars are chosen to be named a Concept Plant. This series features only plants with exceptional new color or form as well as superior adaptability, making these some of the most reliably beautiful cultivars ever grown!

This herbaceous Lavender contains essential oils that can be used in cuisine, but is such a fine garden presence that it is also widely used as a low hedge and mass planting. The compact size makes it easy to grow in a container so you can keep it near at hand for easy harvesting.

Like all Lavenders, 'Big Time Blue' needs very well-drained soil, and prefers to be kept on the dry side--water it while it is becoming established, and then let it dry out more. Very tolerant of heat, humidity, and drought, it is a fine performer in the U.S. Trim back in spring to encourage bushier growth; also deadhead after flowering. After that, you will find it quite self-sufficient, attracting bees and butterflies by the dozen season after season. If your garden doesn't already have lavender, add it at once! And even if it does, it doesn't have one that compares to 'Big Time Blue's early bloom time, compact habit, and gorgeous bloom wands! 1 Quart container. Zones 5 to 9.
