Developed in the hills of West Virginia in the 1930's by MC Byles, better known as "Radiator Charlie." Byles tinkered with cars, farm equipment and tomatoes. Started working at the age of 4 picking cotton and never went to a day of school in his life - but he showed true American ingenuity and it shows in his Mortgage Lifter Tomato. Plant produces good yields of 1 to 2 pound beefsteak tomatoes that have a sweet rich flavor and turn deep pink when mature.
